With a short clip via Ben Affleck's Twitter account last week showing a figure in costume that looks very much like the villain Deathstroke, we now have confirmation of the actor behind the mask.
The Wall Street Journal has confirmation from DC's executive Geoff Johns that Joe Manganiello has been cast and will also be the villain in the new Batman solo movie.
The clip from Affleck, however, is more likely to be from the set of Justice League, in which the actor is currently filming in London. As it is, I'm not so keen with the costume as it looks more like a Power Ranger than the villain from the comic books. But the clip was taken from a handphone and without any effects touch-up.
The actor definitely has the stature to go up against Affleck's Batman so this could be a very interesting match-up. Then again, we still do not know whether Deathstroke will be the antagonist of that Batman movie or a smaller, side villain.
Justice League is slated to be out on 10 November 2017 while the new Batman movie has no confirmed date yet.
