Martin Scorsese's Silence Gets Oscar Award-Friendly Release Date
The new movie of legendary director Martin Scorsese, titled simply as Silence, has a confirmed release date for later this year.
Silence is co-written by Scorsese and is based on the book with the same title written by Shusaku Endo. Scorsese only works with the best actors out there and would usually direct them to an Academy Award nomination. And the line-up for this movie includes Andrew Garfield, Adam Driver and Liam Neeson.
Paramount Pictures has just announced that the movie will have a limited release on 23 December 2016 before opening wide in January 2017. This is no doubt to qualify for the Academy Award of 2017, and the last movie that did this with much success during the Oscars was The Revenant last year.
