Their next offering, God Particle, will be the third movie following Cloverfield and 10 Cloverfield Lane, with the latter being described as a "spiritual sequel" by Abrams to the original.
According to The Wrap, God Particle will also be connected to Cloverfield; but whether it will be a direct sequel or the same way 10 Cloverfield Lane is connected to the original is yet to be discovered.
However, according to the source as well, Abrams is also developing more movies under the Cloverfield banner in order to explore more stories in that universe.
If every movie offers something different but just as interesting and thrilling and exciting as the first two, I will have no problems at all with more movies. If they turn out to be like season three and above in the "Lost" TV series, forget it.
Directed by Julis Onah - and just like the directors that came before him (Matt Reeves and Dan Trachtenberg) who have not become a Hollywood brand but have the potential to before directing for Abrams, the movie is set to be out on 24 February 2017.
