On Thursday night we were treated to the newest but also the last trailer for Walt Disney Pictures and Lucasfilm upcoming saga Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
This trailer has finally revealed the main plot that we have all but heard about thus far. How Mads Mikkelsen's character is the father of Felicity Jones', and how he is also somehow related to Ben Mendelsohn's character and helping Mendelsohn to construct the infamous Death Star.
We also very briefly see how the Rogue One ragtag team is formed and is named as such. But I suspect there will be more context to be revealed, and I'm particularly interested to see how all these individuals get to know each other - especially Donnie Yen and Jiang Wen's characters.
What I'm dreaded to find out, though, is that the new and menacing looking Death Troopers (clad in black) are only in the beginning of the movie when Mendelsohn recruits Mikkelsen. And they will not be seen again after that, much like the Flame Troopers of The Force Awakens. I hope I'm proven wrong.
Nevertheless, this trailer is by far the best trailer; not just from Rogue One, but for the year! I can't wait until 16 December 2016 to see it all unfold.
