The Croods Sequel Cancelled At DreamWorks
I am not affected by this news as Variety today confirmed that The Croods sequel will no longer move forward at DreamWorks Animation.
Comcast has bought DreamWorks Animation back in April of this year, and that meant Universal Pictures has become its parent company.
And it was decided by chairperson at Universal, Donna Langley, that the sequel will no longer be on the table. Some 30 employees have been taken off the project with immediate effect.
Initially scheduled to be released in 2017 and later pushed to 2018, and even though cancelled, the studios may take another shot at it a few more years down the line.
