[Review] Underworld: Blood Wars (3.5/10)

It is quite curious and rare for a movie that is to be released a month later and yet we are getting it here already.

But it's nothing too exciting when the movie isn't that good. I appreciated how the opening of the movie took some time to refresh our memories on the previous chapters. I honestly did not remember any of them.

After the initial engagement, however, the narrative immediately exposed the movie's weakness. The script felt like it was a rushed job because every scene felt so rushed. There was minimal dialogue and some parts of the editing was bad.

The main problem came from the characters and their development. There was nothing interesting to pull me into the movie from the way the story was directed. The interactions between the characters were also quite dull and none of individuals stood out.

Even Kate Beckinsale wasn't strong enough to keep me interested. And it's not because of her acting, I'm sure there was nothing more she could have done with the script that she had to work with.

What's more, the CGI for the werewolves did not get enough budget and they looked horrible.

It's a wonder why this movie was even made. The scarier thing is the thought that the studio will make another one of these. If enough audience paid tickets for it, it may just happen again; especially when Beckinsale has not much going on for her right now.
