James Franco has not impressed me in a while, and I had half a thought to skip this trailer. But watching the first 10 seconds of I Am Michael, it just gripped me and never let go.
The performances here with Franco and Zachary Quinto look amazing. The way the shots are framed, the mood, the music, everything about this trailer is beautiful. But this is the best I have ever seen of Franco, and he seems to have disappeared into the role. The only thing that confuses me is why is this movie not released for award season?
Also starring Emma Roberts, written and directed by Justin Kelly, the movie premiered in Sundance Film Festival and will be out on 27 January 2017.
