Two LEGO movies in one year. And right on the heels of opening of The LEGO Batman Movie, the first trailer for The LEGO Ninjago Movie has just been released with its poster.
But this trailer has successfully separated itself from Batman because the content is indeed quite different. Ninjago could be more action oriented out of all the LEGO properties, and this is the first one that has dragons and mechs.
However, Ninjago is a property that existed first on TV as a series; so how different would it be for this movie? Granted I have never seen the TV series, so this may entertain me more than its existing fan base.
Also, the poster is very indicative of the era for the movie. At first I thought the movie would exist as a period piece but it actually takes place in the here and now.
But this is not that good of a trailer from Warner Bros. Pictures. The jokes are a bit flat and predictable. Thankfully the visuals are impressive.
Directed by Charlie Bean as his first full-length feature, and once again co-produced by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the movie will be out on 22 September 2017.
