Charlie's Angels is getting another reboot by Sony Pictures.
According to The Tracking Board, Elizabeth Banks is set to direct the movie, with a script that is being rewritten by TV series "Narcos" writers Doug Miro and Carlo Bernard.
A release date has also been confirmed by Sony for 7 June 2019.
I would have expected a reboot to happen sooner for this franchise. The last movie to hit the silver screen was back in 2003, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle. There was also a TV series that failed to take off after a few episodes back in 2011.
Banks is not a director I am excited for yet as she has not had enough to prove herself. I think this type of a movie would suit her and see what she can do with it.
