Benedict Cumberbatch is Thomas Edison. The first trailer for The Current War has been released by The Weinstein Company.
Also starring Michael Shannon as George Westinghouse and Nicholas Hoult as Nikola Tesla, with supporting roles from Tom Holland, Katherine Waterston and Matthew Macfayden; the trailer shows the head-to-head competition between the two leads for their electrical system to power the industrial age.
Shannon looks like he is giving another Oscar-worthy performance, but for Cumberbatch it is still too soon to tell.
The movie is written by Michael Mitnick and directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon; and will be released on 24 November 2017.
