Gavin O'Connor To Write And Direct Suicide Squad 2

Another director-announcement is coming out of the DC Films and Warner Bros. Pictures for the Suicide Squad sequel, according to Variety.

Gavin O'Connor has been hired to write and direct for Suicide Squad 2, but I'll believe it when I see a trailer. At this point, anything can happen in Hollywood, especially when it's WB that has become infamous for creating a musical chairs scenario for their DC properties.

However, if O'Connor is doing it, then this is quite an exciting choice. O'Connor has done great with Warrior, as well as the small action-thriller The Accountant with Ben Affleck. And especially with the latter, could we once again see Batman making a cameo in the sequel (assuming Affleck is staying as Batman)?

O'Connor is also becoming a staple-director at WB as the studio has greenlit a sequel to The Accountant.

Suicide Squad 2 is still without a release date but should be for 2019.
