Sony Pictures has released the first trailer and poster to Roman J. Israel, Esq. starring Denzel Washington.
While Washington is one of the best actors today, it is becoming harder and harder for him as the actor to disappear when he is onscreen. This first trailer, even though there is nothing wrong with it; I still see Washington as Washington instead of his character.
Perhaps the next trailers will make me change my mind. But this trailer is hitting all the right beats with its drama and humour. I am hoping there will be a lot more. Also starring Colin Farrell Carmen Ejogo.
Written and directed by Dan Gilroy as his follow-up to the critically-acclaimed Nightcrawler, the movie will be out on 17 November 2017.
