Just when I thought the Spider-Man spin-off Venom movie was as interesting as it could get with the casting of Tom Hardy and Riz Ahmed, now Variety is reporting that another well-respected and heavy-hitter actor is close to joining.
Multiple Oscar-nominated Michelle Williams is in talks to play the female lead and love interest to Hardy's Eddie Brock. Her character is also a district attorney.
This yet-untitled Venom movie is reported by Sony Pictures that it will not be in the same universe as Tom Holland's Spider-Man, which may or may not be a wise decision seeing as how DC and Warner Bros. Pictures are struggling with their shared universe right now.
The movie is scheduled to be out on 5 October 2017.
