Creed 2 has been on hold for a long while as the first movie came out in 2015, with rumours saying they were hoping to have Ryan Coogler coming back to direct the sequel. His vision for the first movie made it my favourite movie of that year.
And that is also why I am very hesitant about Stallone coming back to direct. The best Rocky-related movies, the original Rocky and Creed, were not directed by Stallone. Those that were, which are Rocky II, III, IV, and Rocky Balboa; were no where near the greatness of John G. Avildsen's Rocky (he also directed Rocky V) and Coogler's Creed.
Stallone will also be writing and producing the sequel, but no confirmation on a release date as of yet.
