Benedict Cumberbatch's The Grinch First Trailer And Poster

Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment have released the first trailer and poster for The Grinch.

An animated version this time, and voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch, The Grinch is back to steal Christmas.

Honestly, I could do without those pesky Minions already, even if it's just the title card. And the trailer itself does not do much too as everything that he does here is very predictable. Only that snowman punch towards the end made me smile.

Also, I am afraid that the Illumination style is way too similar with each of its animation. The Grinch now looks like a cross between The Secret Life Of Pets and The Lorax, as well as Horton Hears A Who! (though I guess it would make sense that these Dr. Seuss properties would belong in the same universe even though Horton was from Blue Sky Studios but the ex-president at Blue Sky created Illumination Entertainment).

Directed by Yarrow Cheney and Scott Mosier, the movie will be out on 9 November 2018.
