Everyone remembers Saw was created by James Wan, but he also had a creative partner Leigh Whannell who went on to write a few more Saw movies and the Insidious franchise. He also directed Insidious: Chapter 3 as his debut.
For his sophomore effort, he is collaborating with Blumhouse Productions, which is always a good sign, to bring a more action flair movie to what he's used to.
In this trailer, seems like Blumhouse is following the footsteps of Marvel where there is a heavier comedic tone amidst all the action sequences. And leading the movie is the other Tom Hardy, Logan Marshall-Green, who was very effective in the few things I've seen him in, including Spider-Man: Homecoming.
The biggest pull for me is to watch Marshall-Green having a completely different expression than he should have while pulling off those killing blows.
This will be rated R as we just got both a red band and a green band trailer.
