[Review] Mike And Dave Need Wedding Dates (4/10)
Mike And Dave Need Wedding Dates is one of those comedy movies that saw its cast having more fun onscreen than the audience could watching it.
Zac Efron certainly did not need to be in this movie but this was the period where he kept making the wrong choices. Anna Kendrick must have done this for the "one for them". The ones that made this movie work were Adam Devine and Aubrey Plaza, who seemed like the script were meant for them instead.
There were a few good chuckles, which mainly came from Devine's antics. There was also a great cameo from Kumail Nanjiani who provided the most visual gags. I only wished Sam Richardson would have done more because his character here was just plain boring, as opposed to him in TV's "Veep".
Most of the antics did not work, but there was a great gag when a wheel hit a face. That was probably the best buildup in the whole movie.
Otherwise, the whole thing just was not fun enough to sit through.
