[Review] Deadpool 2 (Non-Spoiler First Reaction)

Deadpool 2 took all that was great with the character and the jokes in the first one and took them to the next level. There was no loss in the characterization of who Deadpool is, but gave us even more.

The cast was bigger and there was this unnecessary and ridiculous attempt to create X-Force. But the fact that it was unnecessary made it even more hilarious. There was more budget this time and that went into a lot more of the CGI fights as well as an action sequence inside a truck.

There was so much going on onscreen that I cannot properly get a feel if there was a good story behind all the gags and laughter, and there were a whole lot of gags and laughter. I remember laughing out so loudly that I can't remember when was the last time I had this much bursts of laughter inside the cinema.

The plot this time was too thin as compared to the first one. The script served more for the humour rather than the story, but that's not to say the story was lousy. The overall plot revolved around Deadpool and Firefist, the kid played by Julian Dennison; and their relationship and chemistry worked very well.

Josh Brolin as Cable, after seeing Thanos brought to life onscreen, was a little bit disappointing because of how he was introduced and written. There wasn't enough layers to make him more interesting. So I hope there will be more of his backstory in the X-Force movie.

But Domino played by Zazie Beetz was a good addition and also a good introduction to her character. Also Colossus was also back in a big way.

This movie also introduced a lot more minor characters that are very popular in the comics but it was a little bit disappointing to see where they end up.

Deadpool 2 was almost as good as Deadpool; but it was a lot more fun and if there is going to be a Deadpool 3 they would have to make it very different from these two movies in order to keep it fresh, perhaps like Thor: Ragnarok.

And the mid-credit scene, like all other reviewers out there, I have to say it was the best of all time.
