Deadline has reported that a new RoboCop is being developed at MGM and the studio has confirmed a director to revive the franchise after the failure of 2014's attempt.
Neill Blomkamp, a master of sci-fi (whose Chappie borrowed heavily from RoboCop) is set to direct the new installment.
This bodes well for the project and for Blomkamp, who has been lobbying to get a crack at Aliens but failed after Ridley Scott decided to do Alien: Covenant himself.
Hopefully this time we get to see what Blomkamp can do with a pre-existing property instead of all his originals that never lived up to District 9.
