[Review] Nocturnal Animals (8.5/10)

Tom Ford is an interesting talent because he is more known for his fashion businesses and acumen, but both movies that he directed led to Oscar nominations for his actors, among other awards.

This movie again boasted incredible performances from an incredible cast that has numerous Oscar nominations between them. And it showed again here that Ford brought out the best of them.

There was a short interaction between Laura Linney and Amy Adams and I found myself really enjoying that dialogue and Linney had such a wonderful performance in just that one scene. If she had had more scenes she may be a contender for Best Supporting Actress as well.

Ford definitely has an eye for capturing a shot; mixed with some old-fashioned sensibilities of creating tone. And his opening sequence was so weird and, on the outset, looked unnecessary but that weirdness in tone carried on throughout the movie.

And that dramatic sequence along the highway was tension at its best as it brought out a lot of emotions through situational incidents. Ford should be making more movies.
