With the MCU Phase 3 coming to an end, especially with how Avengers: Endgame will end, we can expect some shocks and surprises that will shake up the future of the MCU.
Phase 4 already has a few movies lined up with directors of very different and unconventional-blockbuster background attached:
Ryan Coogler for Black Panther sequel
Taika Waititi will be back for something
Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck could come back for Captain Marvel sequel
Chloe Zhao for The Eternals
Cate Shortland for the solo Black Widow movie
Not forgetting also Scott Derrickson for a Doctor Strange sequel.
And today, Deadline has confirmed that Destin Daniel Cretton is set to direct Shang-Chi, written by Dave Callaham. The movie will see not only director and writer of Asian descent, but probably the whole production will follow the footsteps of Black Panther.
I'm hoping to see Lewis Tan in this role!
