Mindy Kaling is a smart writer and her humour is fresh and up-to-date. However, this trailer does not show much of those qualities. It feels a little tired at the moment. Hopefully a second trailer will change all that. After all, Amazon Studios paid a good sum to acquire distribution rights for it so it must look good at the Sundance Film Festival.
