I am surprised to see the Warrens back for this sequel. That, however, is a very good sign for the movie - even though it is directed by first-time director Gary Dauberman, whose work I have never been a fan of.
Even as a co-writer for It, I am inclined to believe it was the other writers that wrote a brilliant screenplay, because Dauberman's solo writing effort has always been weak. Just like this trailer, had it not been for Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga.
