[Editorial] Top 10 Favourite Moments In Avengers: Endgame

I have now seen Avengers: Endgame four times at the cinema, unfortunately none at IMAX only because it was in 3D while I was in Bangkok couple of weeks ago.

Here's my Top 10 favourite moments from the movie. And obviously, SPOILERS everywhere!

I'll start with an honourable mention of Hollywood legendary golden boy Robert Redford returning as Director Pearce. I squealed.

10) The female Avengers assembling at a very crucial moment, and right after Captain Marvel so coolly said, "Hi there, Peter Parker. You got something for me?"

9) Pepper Potts showed up in the Rescue armour looking pissed!

8) Hawkeye and Black Widow's battle with each other on Vormir. I was just holding my breath dreading who was going to die. I thought it was going to be Hawkeye but when it was clearly Natasha, the water works wouldn't stop after she said, "It's okay, let me go." It also started with one of the best quotes in the movie, "I don't judge people on their worst mistakes."

7) Captain America stepping into the lift as a throwback to Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Just recognizing that scene when it played out, ending with Cap whispering, "Hail, Hydra!", that was pure joy.

6) Iron Man surprised all of us by stealing the Infinity Stones off of the Gauntlet. The gasps and cheers in the cinema added to the joy.

5) Iron Man's funeral and having all those actors in the MCU appearing for that one shot was quietly beautiful. To see two more Hollywood greats, Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer, in the same scene as the rest of the superheroes, was a treat.

4) Black Panther, Shuri and Okoye stepping out of the sling ring, after Thanos summoned all his minions and after Cap picked himself up, all bloodied and tired. And after hearing nothing but silence and then Falcon said, "On your left." The waterworks never stopped, because more and more sling rings appeared and more and more good guys appeared. Everyone that got snapped was unsnapped and they want revenge.

3) Doctor Strange signaling Iron Man that yes, this is the one in 14,000,605 chance that they could succeed. Because right before this, Thanos was beating everyone, and he's getting the Infinity Stones back. This finger by Strange turned the tide.

2) Captain America wielding Mjolnir. I did not see it coming! The geek in me just fainted with joy. Especially with how the Russo Brothers setup the scene, saving Thor from demise with his own weapon that no one else was supposed to be able to wield. And all we saw was Mjolnir lifted off the ground, knocking Thanos, and swings back to, not Thor, but Cap! I'm tearing up just thinking about it!

1) Avengers Assemble! Finally, Cap uttered it. And again, it's how the Russos set up this scene. Re-doing that Mjolnir scene again with a panning shot of all the good guys before we hear, "Assemble", followed by the charge!
