[Review] Widows (7.5/10)

Title - Widows
Studio - 20th Century Fox, Regency Enterprises
Starring - Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki, Cynthia Erivo, Colin Farrell, Brian Tyree Henry, Daniel Kaluuya, Carrie Coon, Jon Bernthal, Liam Neeson, Jacki Weaver, Robert Duvall
Writer - Gillia Flynn
Director - Steve McQueen
Release - 16 November 2018

It's not just an action movie, it's actually closer to a heist-thriller; delivered skillfully by Steve McQueen.

Though that turn in the third act was predictable, but the movie still packed a punch and had a grip on the audience that seldom lets up.

David Kaluuya continued to impress with his performance here, Robert Duvall was memorable, Colin Farrell unfortunately did not have much to do, and I wished there was more of Jon Bernthal.

But the ladies led by Viola Davis were really great to watch, with clear standouts from Elizabeth Debicki and Cynthia Erivo.

There were a bit of politics thrown in, which was what held the movie together; but that became the least entertaining parts of the story as there were few and far in between that I did not care about the "whys" and looked forward more to the "hows" and "whats".
