RIP Rutger Hauer

According to Variety, actor Rutger Hauer died on 19 July 2019 at the age of 75, with his funeral taking place yesterday.

Rutger was probably most famous for his role in the original Blade Runner, as well as movies smaller roles in the feature-length Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Batman Begins, Sin City, and more recently Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets.

But my first experience with Hauer was my earliest memory of watching a movie in the cinema, and that was Ladyhawke, playing the lead opposite Michelle Pfeiffer. That's why that movie, and the duo, will always have a place in my memory.

I also just found out that we share the same birthday.
