[Review] Anna (7/10)

Title - Anna
Studio - Summit Entertainment
Starring - Sasha Luss, Cillian Murphy, Luke Evans, Helen Mirren
Writer - Luc Besson
Director - Luc Besson
Release - 21 June 2019

I really enjoyed this movie, even though it looked like it could really be bad. This wasn't Luc Besson back to form, this wasn't Leon or The Fifth Element; but it was good enough.

The Good:

- With the popularity of Black Widow in the MCU, this could have easily been another origin story for Natasha.

- Luc Besson made us care about Sasha Luss' character and we were willing to follow her until the very end.

- Great supporting cast in Murphy, Evans and Mirren; whom all added to the story with their performances.

- Luss has a face for the cinema screen. With more training, she could be in more movies. But what she did here was more than adequate (better than say Kate Upton or Ronda Rousey, or both of them combined).

- Once in a while, Besson would drop a hilarious scene, and we had one here with the finger.

The Bad:

- Luss' acting wasn't up to par, even though she carried the movie well enough. So, kudos to Besson on directing her.

- This wasn't anything original. Even with the twists and turns, I wasn't too surprised with the story.
