[Review] Spenser Confidential (5/10)
Title - Spenser Confidential
Studio - Netflix
Starring - Mark Wahlberg, Winston Duke, Alan Arkin, Iliza Shlesinger, Bokeem Woodbine, Post Malone, Marc Maron
Writer - Sean O'Keefe
Director - Peter Berg
Release - 6 March 2020
While it is another Mark Wahlberg and Peter Berg partnership, there is a reason this is on Netflix and that is, it's just not that good.
This movie belonged in the 90's. There was nothing that was more modern or that it should exists in this era. Except that Iliza Shlesinger was really funny. As the movie progressed, her character just got better and better.
But this movie somehow also showed that Winston Duke may not be as great as what we have seen in his other movies like Us and Black Panther.
Peter Berg usually gives us drama and tension, but he has given us comedy before in Hancock. That movie was a better action-comedy than this.
