[Review] Bad Education (8/10)

Title - Bad Education
Studio - HBO
Starring - Hugh Jackman, Allison Janney, Ray Romano, Alex Wolff, Geraldine Viswanathan
Writer - Mike Makowsky
Director - Cory Finley
Release - 25 April 2020

Well, with very little to show for this year, this gem of a movie is such a welcome.

With superb performances again from Hugh Jackman and Allison Janney, I do wonder with so little movies to choose from this year, could these two performances end up in the nomination list of next year's Oscars.

Alex Wolff has a small role but he was so good in it. He is slowly winning me over as a performer.

And Cory Finley has such a handle on directing this film. The pacing was just right, taking its time in the first act to simmer, slowly setting up the plot, and all the way to the little twist in the third act (if you don't know the real events); there was never a dull moment.

This was a great role for Jackman, showing a bit more range to what we are used to, but also pulling back and never over acting. Ultimately, shaving off the beloved Wolverine look.
