Title - The Forty-Year-Old Version
Studio - Netflix
Starring - Radha Blank, Peter Kim, Oswin Benjamin, Reed Birney
Writer - Radha Blank
Director - Radha Blank
Release - 9 October 2020
For someone who's making her directorial feature debut, this was very decent.
The first half of the movie was great. It was charming and funny and had so much potential with the direction that it was going.
The second half, however, as we started to head to the story's end, this was where the inexperienced writer-director for a feature showed a little of her shortcomings. The pacing certainly dropped noticeably, to a point where I thought we could have shaved at least 10 minutes off the runtime. It also got a little predictable.
But as a voice, like what Radha Blank was portraying in the movie, it was relevant. And I thought the ending while subtle was effective.
