It's not often to get a Carey Mulligan movie and I can't even remember the last time I saw her. Her movies and her performances don't stick in my head in the past. But that has all changed with this movie.

Mulligan played such an interesting character and so beautifully directed by Emerald Fennell. The more we learn about her backstory the better her character got. And while we the audience were rooting for her but we did so very tentatively because we were afraid she would cross lines. But that's also the appeal of the story.

Bo Burnham was surprisingly charming. It's either great editing or this multi-talented individual can also act. And the relationship he created with Mulligan was one of the highlights and created the push-and-pull of whether or not Mulligan's character should pursue her vengeance.

And what led to the end of the movie was heartbreaking and unexpected. A little too well thought out of a plan that kind of felt satisfactory but also impossible to feel completely satisfied.

But all in all, a movie that I won't soon forget. And Mulligan is now giving Vanessa Kirby a very stiff competition for the Best Actress Oscar.
