A romance drama that spanned across the first few years of a relationship. These types of movies have a glossy sheen over it that never showed more realistic issues, but chose to focus on the romance. I get it, the movie is selling a fantasy; not Marriage Story.

Nevertheless, there was the real issue of moving apart that causes strain. I wished the story would have delved more into that aspect as well. Instead, the third act had no real cause for reconciliation but yet we find the lead characters coming back to each other without much effort.

Also, there should have been a huge fallout, or at least a feeling of it, at the final dinner scene. The characters' internal monologue talked about how they both couldn't face each other and speak their truths so they avoided sitting down for dinner. And yet they once they did, that sequence ended. I thought there was a missed opportunity to do something more impactful.

Still, another movie from China with such a subject matter that was very well made and shot; and I find myself very impressed once again with the quality. They really do attempt to be original.
