Inside Out 2 worked better than the original for me because, one was pacing. Either because the first one had already setup the concept of where the emotions would visit in their world so it's less jarring this second time around. Or, the story just flowed better this time around.

Or, because in the climax of the story where we saw Riley breaking down in a panic attack due to anxiety, I think all of us could relate to that. I was taken back to a time when I, too, had all those thoughts in me and I let them shaped who I was going to become.

And this story was so great at addressing that issue, putting it into light in a way that we were able to relate and never dumbing anything down.

Also, what an apt way in bringing all these new emotions after Riley hit puberty. What a concept. I wouldn't be surprised if a psychiatrist was consulting behind all this writing. And I didn't even miss some of the original voice cast like Bill Hader who didn't come back for this sequel.

And what about Maya Hawke, She's making a real name for herself, definitely not a nepo baby. Her voice work here was perfection.

Pixar is back. And I'm glad to see a great movie getting the attention it deserved as it is now the highest money-making movie of the year.

Even though I have given both movies the same score, this sequel was a step higher than the original.
