Coleman Domingo will definitely get an Academy Award nomination for this role. He was such a force to be reckoned with.

And the way director Greg Kwedar shot the movie like a documentary gave the story a real sort of feel. It was, however, based off of a real story. And furthermore, most of the other actors just played themselves because they were real inmates.

Other than Domingo, Clarence Maclin - an inmate in his first major movie role, was a clear star. He looked like a seasoned pro and gave his character the most transformation; his first scene and his last was a drastically changed man following his character development.

Also, having Paul Raci just gave the movie even more legitimacy in this sort of documentary-styled drama.
