Adam Sandler not getting nominated for this role was a let down for me because I thought this was the one that would finally land him an Oscar nomination.
I related to the character of Jay Kelly in the way of aging, and George Clooney's final line was delivered in such a heartfelt and poignant way that, had the rest of the movie given him more of such moments; he may have had a better shot at a Best Actor nomination.
But I found most of the middle of the film to be a tad slower, and was hoping for it to move along quicker. But every time Sandler popped up, it was good. And I would have loved to see more of the Jay Kelly's team which included Emily Mortimer who co-wrote the movie but didn't really give her character much to do.
