Stop-Loss (6/10)

There's nothing really amazing about this movie. Parts of it became like clips from a music video as this was an MTV production as well.I have always liked Ryan Phillippe and I think that's what gravitated me towards hunting down this movie more than anything else. There's also Joseph Gordon-Levitt before his breakout role in (500) Days Of Summer. With hindsight, this movie didn't do him justice at all even though he was competent. The rest of the cast did well too, all except Channing Tatum who I have always and still found lacked emotion. The director's name is Kimberly Peirce and she hasn't done much other than Boys Don't Cry. History dictates that was one great movie but it's funny how Peirce has been very quiet ever since. I thought the direction was good here too so would like to see more from her.
