How To Train Your Dragon (9/10)

This was a fun, fun, fun movie. It's got dragons, vikings, humour and action. Doesn't get more entertaining than this. Well, the writing can be a bit more detailed but I guess that will require a lot more budget to even get it to run another ten minutes longer. The animation and effects were beautiful. The story was well thought out, not the most original piece but it was interesting enough for the audience to feel for the characters. The only thing I would improve on were the details of continuity of the storyline so as to minimise loopholes. Minor stuff but certain parts got me into thinking of the plausibility of the scene so I didn't like that. There were a lot of awareness for me after coming back from Ulu Ulu Temburong. Especially when Hiccup took Astrid for a ride and when Astrid finally slowed down to look around, it reminded me of how I began to look at the nature around me through a new pair of eyes after spending a few days in them. That really struck a chord with me as I was brought back into how beautiful nature is if you really take time to appreciate it. Just like Astrid.
