Up In The Air (9/10)
I cannot ask for more from this movie. Everything about it was just perfect.Towards the end I thought it was going to revert back to something cliche but thank goodness it didn't. I really enjoyed the story, every scene had a purpose and intention so nothing was boring. The premise of George Clooney's character was so interesting that it spurred intrigue immediately. And with Clooney's performance, he really owned the character. I cannot imagine anyone else in this role. And there really is no one as good looking as he is at his age. His charm can bounce off the screen and really infect his audience, and by the end of it we were feeling for him, or eating out of his hands, I'm not sure which. His two co-stars deserved the Oscar nomination this year. Vera Famiga was great and gorgeous; but when Anna Kendrick was asked to fire people by Jason Bateman, and she did it while being emotionally drained, that was just powerful and I really felt her hurting. That scene alone deserved that Oscar nod for her.
