Shrek Forever After (5/10)
[caption id="attachment_1540" align="alignleft" width="94" caption="(imdb.com)"][/caption]Yes, it has to be the final one. I don't think it's the creators' fault. It still had an interesting story and, if my judgement wasn't too clouded from boredom, the execution was still decent enough. It's just that Shrek has ran its course. It has lost its appeal and the audience just wants to move on without him. However, I also feel that the creators had a hard time creating this one too. The characters weren't interesting anymore and it was hard to make the audience care for them in this one. Their creative juices just weren't flowing after the second one, but to be fair how many ways can Shrek be interesting? New characters here weren't featured to become stars, except Rumplestiltskin but only because he's the antagonist. Others like the witches and ogres were there just to serve their purpose to the bare minimum. The jokes didn't fly either. It was just going through the motions most of the time. Only Puss with a makeover seemed to be able to entertain in that department. But I guess it did enough to wrap up the whole franchise as we say goodbye to these characters, forever.
