You Again (5/10)
[caption id="attachment_1920" align="alignleft" width="214" caption="(imdb.com)"][/caption]With such a cast, it's biggest crime was not being funny enough. What went wrong?I'm not sure if it's the acting but I thought the actors gave it their best shot. It could be the directing for not being able to deliver the punch lines well enough. Or it could just be the writing which could have been funnier.I love Odette Yustman, I think she's one of the prettiest young starlets right now. Unfortunately this one wouldn't get her any big recognition to follow up with, and I am afraid for her that she'll be pigeonholed as a horror-flick chick. But to have Sigourney Weavers and Jamie Lee Curtis going head to head with each other? The idea was brilliant but the execution really could have been so much better. Nevertheless, I enjoyed their performances and was happy to see them in those roles.Betty White on the other hand wasn't as effective as she usually is known for and that's such a shame. But the bright spot came from Kyle Bornheimer as he stole every scene he was in. But I think I've had enough of Kristen Bell in rom-coms for now. I don't think she's done any other genres ever since Forgetting Sarah Marshall.By the way, and I promise this wouldn't spoil anything, there's a nice surprise cameo by The Rock.
