[/caption]Finally, a Disney animated movie worthy of its classics!I'm not taking into account last year's The Princess And The Frog because I didn't like that movie too much. But this one, it's back to a hero rescuing a princess on a horse (well, sort of); and this time, the soundtrack included a romantic number by the two leads that were reminiscent of the classics, too. It's almost like Aladdin all over again.Mandy Moore did fine but Zachary Levi was brilliant voicing the hero of this tale. His sarcasm and timing for punchlines were impeccable. And one of the most romantic scenes for as far as I can remember has got to be the lantern scene. The art, though not even close to Pixar quality, was still amazing. As a whole though, I would have liked to see more screen time for the thugs from the pub. But I also know that's not possible for such a premise. Trivial but would have been better if the writer could have found ways to involved them more. And even more so for the Stabingtton brothers who appeared to be too one dimensional. But what really ticked me off was why Flynn Ryder had to die and be brought back to life? I know this could be a big spoiler but Levi has already announced in his monologue in the beginning that this was a tale of how he died. And where would the happily-ever-after be if he wasn't coming back to life? It just saddens me that this type of a gimmick is still used today, at the turn of a new decade. One point had to be taken off.Nevertheless, the Disney magic is back. And you know it's back because in the third act you can hear some sniffles going on in the cinema. You must be doing something right when you can bring tears to your audience's eyes. Tangled is definitely one of my favourite for the year.

  1. I loved it in 3D! Zachary Levi really played Flynn well, and Maximus, the horse is just HILARIOUS. Couldn't stop chuckling.Though it was not of Pixar quality, I thought it was made very well. They did mention that they wanted it to have a more soft painting kind of feel to it, with the inspiration from one of the most famous paintings in the world, The Swing. I personally think they nailed it.

  3. You will definitely notice the swing reference when Rapunzel went "BEST DAY EVER" swinging around the tree.
