[/caption]I was reminded yet again why I dislike the Narnia franchise. It's just like the Harry Potter franchise, these adaptations can be very confusing if you've never read the book. Why did Eustace follow the heroes (and I use this word lightly) down to investigate when they hit shore the first time? He can't fight. It's illogical. How they all got captured was well deserved for such stupidity. The rescue attempt shortly later was a half baked plan onscreen. They just went in and started a fight without much of a rescue plan. Illogical. When Lucy got kidnapped by the invisible foes, and then later on we see their real sizes and how clumsy they really were; there's just no way Lucy could have been kidnapped in that manner. It makes no sense. The "star" that came, took her sweet time to encourage the sailors to have the food, took a nice stroll with the "heroes" to show them where to go, and then in the end said, "Now waste no time," when so much time have been wasted already. What nonsense.Lastly, I have no idea why this movie was in 3D. It added nothing to the entire experience. Watching it in 2D would have sufficed. No doubt the movie looked good, and the third act was slightly more exciting when the pace of the story picked up. Especially after Eustace morphed, things got more engaging and interesting. Otherwise, it would have been a 4.
