[/caption]I guess I'm a little sucker for dark themes. Not that Faster was completely a dark story but there are elements of darkness in it. And I found that very much enjoyable.I also appreciated how the story told the story of three characters (Driver, Killer, Cop) and then bringing them together. Not that it was done in a clever way but at least the story didn't revolve only around Dwayne Johnson's character alone. There were a lot of characters development and for an action flick such as this, it's always a breath of fresh air.I think for Johnson this is the kind of movie that suits him best, instead of going for the Disney / family movies. This one, at least it played to his physique. And because he has such a prominent physique, it would make more sense and be more realistic playing the tough guy. And I thought Johnson's performance here, for the most part, was spot on as the tough guy on a mission of revenge. However, one scene I didn't get was when his last moment with his brother before he got killed. The script there was too unrealistic and was quite out of character for both of them.As for other flaws, Oliver Jackson-Cohen's character of the Killer was quite a mess and over-the-top. Xander Berkeley and Tom Berenger had such short and useless scenes, though they did make their presence felt. Or perhaps there's possibility of a sequel? I guess if it does well enough, what wouldn't?Maggie Grace seemed to be getting better as an actress. More natural this time than I have remembered her. And while she got better in acting, she also got more attractive.
