The Tourist (6/10)

[/caption]Nobody could have pulled off the characters as well as Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie could. Depp's character required his eccentricity and Jolie's her class and confidence.However, the writing was disappointing. I can see what the movie was going for - a certain aloofness in the script that's more fantasy than logic. But this wasn't a fantasy movie so I wasn't able to appreciate it as much. The worst scene was the running on rooftop; I'm surprised he didn't attract an even larger crowd in busy Venice.I really didn't enjoy how the ending all came together so perfectly. Why Jolie's character was let go just like that was beyond me and I can only blame that again on lazy writing. But when I can see exactly how the movie was going to end, that was another level of disappointment.Having said all that, Depp and Jolie carried the whole movie through for me. Their performances were incredibly captivating and Depp once again was amazing.

    ahh..you are definitely a lot kinder than I am. i was still waiting for the movie to start at the end of it all. the first half hour was so slow. then the chemistry between them was not enough to show how they suddenly 'fell in love' with each other, and the ending was just..flat. Anyhow, I would give it a 4/10. didnt fail too badly, as Depp earned 2 out of that 4, Jolie earned 1, and the humour earned the other 1.

    yes i missed out that part in my review. how she "fell" for him. no chemistry. quite right. i found myself quite lenient these days i think. like fockers, gulliver's, i could have disliked them more but i found myself enjoying some of the scenes.

    and i think i m getting a bit too picky these days! lol. learnt from the best..*ahem* Mr Del. =panw, just wanna let u know that i read almost all your reviews..like 95% of it...just that was too lazee to comment..but these days i m finding the joy in reviewing movies again...so i shall 'borrow' some space here k? lol
