This type of movie is the reason why I avoid Hong Kong movies these days. They are illogical and irrational in their storytelling. Why did I watch it? Because the trailer seemed funny and interesting enough, but the real thing wasn't close to what I was expecting. Even the jokes were rarely funny.

Certain scenes went on for too long, like the mahjong segment with Ronald Cheng or dressing up Chapman To. Those had nothing to do with the story and was included with the misguided notion that it would be entertaining. Scenes like these only made me want to make the movie end sooner.

At first from the trailer I thought Donnie Yen would be interesting to watch out of his usual kung fu flicks, but not only was I wrong, it was sad to see how his talent has been reduced to. He didn't need to make this movie so why even bother?

The rest of the cast like Louis Koo and Cecilia Chung were as expected. Even though they delivered what was required, the poor story progression made their characters jump from emotions to emotions without proper setup and

Granted, everything I've said above were probably exactly what the producers were going for as this was a light-hearted flick for the Chinese New Year, but it just wasn't entertaining from my point of view and was a complete waste of time. I couldn't leave the cinema quick enough after it has ended.
