Drive Angry (5/10)
I don't know why this wasn't shown in 3D here since we already have the 3D screen. And there was a lot of censoring going on that you can't really enjoy watching it.
However, that may have been alright had the movie been any better. But this was another one of those "shoot'em up" genre, with everything logical outside of the glittering wrapper. Reminded me of Shoot 'Em Up, actually. You've got the gore, you've got the sex, and you've got the action - all added up to the cheap thrill that the movie embodied. If those were what I'm rating this movie with, then it would have been full points.
Not sure why Nicolas Cage wants to take on these kind of movies because he certainly doesn't need the cash (or does he?). But I'm sure he had fun doing it; and sure, he looked good in it and delivered the role. But I for one can't stand loopholes and the illogical. And this movie was filled with it, from the characters to the story development and scenes set-up. Even the action bits were so silly that I couldn't swallow half of them.
The only redeeming factor, and I would like to say Amber Heard but even that I can't, was William Fichtner's performance. I thought this was his best portrayal on any screen.
