The story wasn't half bad. Just that it never got any more creative than any other sports related movies. The predictability value didn't help. And I thought the first half just took too long, too much development going on that could have scaled down a little.
The acting was just decent. Ellen Page carried the movie well enough. Even though Drew Barrymore stayed out of the lime light, her presence was felt in those brief moments she was on camera.
The "action" weren't too exciting. Especially when they employed their plays, nothing stood out in any fantastic way. Perhaps this highlighted where Barrymore was lacking as a director?
