Mars Needs Mom (5/10)

This one was actually not very impressive. Maybe that's why I've never even heard of it until it arrived.

The storyline was very straightforward once the plot has been introduced. It was very predictable and followed that set rule of formula in making this movie that targetted the younger audience. The humour weren't as funny or interesting, just simple enough so that children can grasp it straight away.

And the performance-capture technology, after years of evolution, still couldn't make the movie any more interesting from that aspect.

But one great thing about it was the message of a mother's love. The internet generation of kids these days may be confused as to the role of a parent. Or maybe even the parent is confused on how to parent a kid in this internet age. But this movie drove home the message of the unconditional love of a mother towards her child, and I just feel this is so important to have a third party portray that kind of love that's not expressed too much these days.

So I would encourage every child no matter how old to just go and watch it. For all that it was lacking, there are still some entertainment value to make it worth while.
