The Hangover Part II (6/10)

Definitely not as fresh as the first movie, but this one still brought in the laughs.

However, I felt like this movie tried a little too hard to be bigger. Everything was too elaborated, too over-the-top. Some things were even left unexplained, like the chopped-off finger, the tattoo that was easily accepted; these issues would be considered serious and a big deal, but they were just very lightly blown over in the ending. I found them too hard to accept.

But the gags were still hilarious, I have to say. There were a lot of laugh-out-loud moments, a lot of "owwhhh"s "ahhh"s. Zach Galifianakis still the centre of the gags. Ed Helms came up with another song again and that was great. I still didn't find Ken Jeong that fantastic as people made him out to be in the first movie, but he flaunt his jewels again (though I couldn't really see anything...). Jeffrey Tambor had only one scene which was sad. And Paul Giammati wasn't that funny at all unfortunately. Jamie Chung was actually too hot to be in this movie, and her character was too forgiving and sweet. And Bradley Cooper was still Bradley Cooper.

The first one definitely brought a lot of original ideas and that's what made it great. And this second one had to reproduce some of those great original ideas and therefore, wasn't as exciting. So if the producers are just going to copy what they have been doing for a third movie, I think they should just skip it.

And I don't think anything would ever trump the kidnapped tiger.
