From the first sequel till now, every instalment has been barely average for me. What kept me watching was the perfectionist in me that just had to find out how the story evolved. I had to follow Tobin Bell's creation of one of Hollywood's most infamous antagonist, Jigsaw, and see what new mischieve he's up to. And I do admit, this kind of conceptual gore created by James Wan and Leigh Whannell has a certain voyeuristic effect on me.
Again, this instalment was not very good. The story felt desperate and thin. The only good thing was seeing Chester Bennington from Linkin Park getting his skin ripped off, and the return of the much talked-about Cary Elwes whose character was never seen since the first movie. And I see the writers also used a lot of the fans' theory and speculation as to what happened to Elwes' character after the second movie to finish the series off. Not bad; giving the fans what they want.
But like I said, I'm glad it's over.
